Wolverhampton Wanderers FIFA 21 Player Ratings

Since the financial takeover of Wolves by Chinese billionaire Robin Li four years ago, the team has grown manifold and finished 7th last year surprising many top teams. They beat Arsenal and scored the same overall points as Tottenham Hotspurs on the league table.

Manager Nuno Espírito Santo has completely changed the outlook of the team by recruiting top talents from across Europe’s top leagues. Signing young and dynamic youngsters with high potential, they have done great business in the transfer market. The signing and consequent sale of Diogo Jota is a great example of astute business acumen and great recruiting.

The team has grown a lot over the past three seasons. Here is a look at the ratings of the top 11 players in the Wolves squad in FIFA 21.

Rui Patrício – GK

The 32-year-old Portuguese veteran is a Sporting CP legend. After his move to England to play under manager Nuno Santo, he has become a fan favorite. Donning the unconventional number 11 jersey, he is a solid player between the sticks and fortifies the Wolverhampton backline.

They conceded the 4th fewest goals in the league last season beating the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and Leicester who all finished above them. One of the most important reasons for this has been the consistency of Rui between the sticks.

He has been given a boost from his 83 overall in FIFA 20 to an 84 in FIFA 21 and received some stats upgrades too. He is also a part of the elite list of top 20 goalkeepers in the game.

Raúl Jiménez – ST

Raúl Jiménez, the Mexican front man has established himself as one of the best strikers in the game. Scoring 17 goals and raking up 6 assists last season – he was the 8th top scorer of the season finishing above the likes of Aguero and Son Heung-min.

Strong, quick and a with 4-star weak foot- he is one of the best strikers in the league at the moment. He has been rewarded with an 84 overall in FIFA 21 with marked increase in stats too.

João Moutinho – CM

This 34-year-old Portuguese legend has been a Wolves mainstay for 2 seasons now. Last year, he played everyone of the 38 Premier League and 17 Europa League games. This goes to show that even at 34, he is showing no signs of slowing down.

With his impressive passing range and accurate reading of the game, he unlocks defenses playing alongside Rúben Neves. Guarding the back four with his tackling and making key passes, he is arguably the most important player for Nuno’s Wolves.

Even though he maintained his high standards, he has received a downgrade from his FIFA 20 overall of 84. In FIFA 21 he is rated 83 with some speed and physical downgrades.

His signing was a major coup in recent Premier League history. He was the first of many Portuguese talents that Nuno has brought in to Wolves.

With excellent passing, great vision and one of the most impressive long shots in the game, he is an exciting player to watch. Every time he receives the ball on the edge of the box or steps up to take a free kick – he is expected to score. Such is the reputation he has earned.

Willy Boly – CB

This tall and powerful defender partners Conor Coady on the heart of Wolves defense. His presence and reading of the game contributed massively to their defensive success last campaign.

A broken Tibia in October forced him to the side-lines last season and he was sorely missed by the Wolves side. A great passer from the back, he has the tendency to spring quick attacks by finding Jonny on the left flank.

He has been given an 80-rated card but his stats are rather poor and might be a clunky, heavy defender to play with. But he will be the captain option for career mode players who choose Wolves.

Adama Traore – RW

This speedster has been a great addition to the Wolves squad. The former Barcelona youth has blossomed into one of the fastest and strongest wingers in the talent-stacked premier league.

He can unlock defenses with his runs in behind but also best a full back along the touch-line and deliver accurate crosses. As the focal point of their flank play, he enjoyed a productive season. Though Jimenez bagged all the goals, the sheer speed of Traore posed several questions to defenses and opened up a lot of space for the likes of Jota.

His ratings went from 74 to 78 in FIFA 21, giving him one of the most OP cards in the game. He is a great option for FUT players.

Conor Coady – CB

This midfielder from Liverpool has been transformed into an efficient center back under Nuno’s managerial reign. He has flourished at this position and is the most consistent starter for Wolverhampton.

He recently received his England call-up and this goes to show how valued he is in the Premier League. He is one of the most consistent, no-nonsense defenders with a hard tackle, good headers and excellent reading of counter attacks. Rarely caught off position, he is a very smart player who has made Wolves extremely strong at the back.

Being a former midfielder, Wolves rely on him to spray balls form the back and is often the first player to initiate attacks in the team.

He has gone from a 77 in FIFA 20 to a 79-rated CB in FIFA 21. He has a potential of 81 in the game.

His regular starting place in the playing eleven has earned him an upgrade at the age of 30, which is not very common. He is now a 78-rated player in FIFA 21. His height and good heading stats also make him a set piece threat.
